This quilt called "Compose Yourself" by Cheryl Arkison was the inspiration for our latest challenge. Elaine got the idea after seeing the picture on Pinterest. The quilt and the instructions are also presented by Cheryl in person in a chapter of the book "Lucky Spool's Essential Guide to Quiltmaking", where Cheryl says that her inspiration comes from a favourite Alexander Henry fabric. We didn't copy Cheryl's pattern exactly. Elaine dropped some of the shapes and added a few more, after which it looked like this - our "Geometric Challenge":

The first challenge was therefore to cut out all those little pieces (four A3 sheets) before starting the designing and sewing process!

Es galt auch einige Regeln zu beachten:
Höhe: 60 Inch, Breite: freigestellt.
Heller Hintergrund, ansonsten keine Stoff-Vorgaben.

There were also some rules:
Height: 60", width: any.
Light background, otherwise no rules re fabric.
Shapes can be pieced.
Quilt top can be pieced and/or appliquéd.
Shapes can overlap as long as they are still recognisable.
Use ALL the shapes!

Our challenge reminded Helga of a game she played as a small child and still had in the closet:
